Endovascular Coiling for a Ruptured Proximal Lenticulostriate Artery Aneurysm

چکیده
Aneurysms of the lenticulostriate artery (LSA) are rare lesions that are categorized into either proximal (at the junction of the middle cerebral artery trunk) or distal (within the basal ganglia).[1] These lesions have been reported against the background of a diverse array of pathologies including hypertension,[2] vascular malformations,[3] moyamoya disease, substance abuse, systemic lupus erythematosus, ventricular neurocytoma, and Sneddon’s syndrome;[4] however, most cases are idiopathic.[1]

Successful endovascular coiling of a ruptured internal iliac artery aneurysm: a case report
Ruptured internal iliac artery aneurysms (IIAA) are extremely rare, and the repair can be challenging. This case reports described an 83-year-old patient who presented at our Emergency Department with acute abdominal pain based on a ruptured IIAA. He refused open repair and only wanted to be treated as minimally invasive as possible. Therefore endovascular embolization of the IIAA was performed...
متن کاملDouble Stent Assist Coiling of Ruptured Large Saccular Aneurysm in Proximal Basilar Artery Fenestration
Basilar artery fenestration is infrequent and even rarer in association with a large aneurysm. With proximity to brain stem and vital perforators, endovascular coiling can be considered first. If the large ruptured aneurysm with a wide neck originated from fenestra of the proximal basilar artery and the fenestration loop has branches of posterior circulation, therapeutic consideration should be...
متن کاملEndovascular treatment of a lenticulostriate artery aneurysm with N-butyl cyanoacrylate.
BACKGROUND Aneurysms arising from lenticulostriate artery branches in moyamoya-type disease are challenging lesions to treat, due to their fragility and deep location. Surgery is difficult and endovascular options may be limited. METHODS A 57-year-old woman presented with a right ganglionic parenchymal hemorrhage due to a ruptured lenticulostriate artery aneurysm associated with ipsilateral m...
متن کاملSupraclinoid Internal Carotid Artery Fenestration Harboring an Unruptured Aneurysm and Another Remote Ruptured Aneurysm: Case Report and Review of the Literature
A fenestration of the supraclinoid internal carotid artery (ICA) is a rare congenital condition. We report an aneurysm arising from the proximal end of an ICA fenestration that was treated by endovascular coiling. Three-dimensional rotational angiography of preoperative cerebral angiography provided an understanding of the complex anatomy of the aneurysms associated with the fenestration and ma...
متن کاملEmergency endovascular coiling of a ruptured giant splenic artery aneurysm
Splenic artery aneurysms (SAAs) are the third most common abdominal aneurysm. Endovascular treatment of SAAs is preferred, and coiling is the most commonly used technique. Ruptured giant (>5 cm) SAAs are usually treated with open surgery including splenectomy. We present a rare case of a ruptured 15-cm giant SAA in an 84-year-old woman treated successfully with emergency endovascular coiling. T...
